The first bank holiday weekend of the year is soon upon us. Hooray! Everybody will be keen to get out and enjoy themselves. This is a perfect opportunity to entice families and friends into your outlet. Read our ideas to make the most of it.
Weekend
With Easter being a weekend event, you have plenty of opportunity to plan in a variety of events to suit different customer types for both daytime or in the evening. You can concentrate on Easter Sunday only, or plan events over whole the weekend. In our barbible- Event Success articles, there are lots of ideas and tips for different events such as bring and buy sales, bingo, talent contests, car wash, karaoke and many more….
Preparation is key
Make sure your staff is briefed on all the events, and that you have enough cover to cater for the extra people you anticipate. Review your stock and bar range. When ordering online, stray away from
ordering products only from your list and have a look at all your suppliers’ promotions. Make sure you are making the most of ordering online. Add more of your suppliers, by following the relevant supplier request to trade link from the barbox home page, and get those exclusive online deals.
Easter is a family time
Family fun days and fetes are something the British are very good at. Your own imagination is your limit. What about Breakfast with Bunny with lots of tasty pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast etc? You could host a Mad Hatters Tea Party in the afternoon with lots of hats, sandwiches, finger food and yummy cakes. You can have indoor or outdoor activities such as egg painting, colouring or football games, depending on space and weather.
Easter egg hunts are becoming more popular. They are easy to do in your outlet and many bargain stores have Easter egg hunt kits. Hide vouchers inside plastic eggs around your outlet and exchange them for Easter egg prizes.
What about the adults?
Think about hosting a beer festival, and join in the spirit of Cask Ale Week. You could have live music, or a disco. Quizmaster has a special Easter quiz waiting for you to download!
Easter Sunday lunch
Customers will have similar expectations of an Easter lunch as they do for a Christmas lunch. So, bear this in mind and make an effort with your menus, decorations, cutlery and customer service.
The barbox team wish you an extra special Easter.
